MARBEL NAILS

I used to do this back in high school and recently rediscovered it !

You will need:

  • a container filled with room temp. water
  • 3-4 of you favorite nail polishes
  • a tooth pick or a similar tool
  • Vaseline or tape
  • nail polish remover
  • cotton buds

1. Lay out everything in front of you for easy access

2. Pick a colour as bottom coat, paint all nails and let dry
3. Allocate a finger (you may choose all) to marble
4. Vaseline or tape around nail of allocated finger/s

5. Prepare nail polishes you wish to use to marble by dropping droplets of them into the water, alternating the colours

6. Once about 10 'rings' have formed pull Polish into a design using the pick

7. Holding finger parallel to water dip nail through the design into the water
8. Do not pull finger out ( excess paint will come with the finger) using the cotton swab, wipe all excess paint around the finger

9. Remove finger
10. Dip cotton swab in remover, and remove excess polish off the finger

11. Apply a thin top coat
Tip: Paint your allocated finger white for the marble colours/pattern really pop !
Note:  This wont work with all polishes !

VIXEN

So I decided to try out the double 'inner' winged liner and this is how it turned out.
I used a MAC gel liner and a realllly thin brush that I got from a random little Asian store in Burwood.
hOW tO: use what ever eye shadows you like on the lid. Personally i like to use a darker shadow close to black, so when you do your liner it doesn't look so harsh compared to the rest of the eye.
The crappy camera I used really didn't pick up the rich colours I used.
I did a strong true gold on the inner lid.
A light teal in the crease.
A navy blue with gold glitter on the out lid.
A tad of black to darken the outer corner of the lid ( a tad!)
A cream colour for the highlight.

  1. For the winged liner, I followed the contours of the eye for the bottom and top lash lines in a very thin coat of gel liner.
  2. Extend both lines of the gel liner slightly inward with a soft and steady hand (soft at first, darken it up later, mistakes here are also easier to fix when lightly drawn in).
  3. I did the top line shorter than the bottom, I just liked it that way.
  4. Adjust lines.
  5. Using another small/thin ended brush fill in some light cream shadow between the lines for definition ( a sharp white pencil is also a good alternative!).

double winged liner

I adore this double winged liner, its something different. I first saw it on Kim Kardashian and needless to say her eye makeup is always great.

How to:
  1. For the top line, follow the natural contours of your eye. Once at the end of the eye, flick liner out in a slightly curved line. Do this with a light hand first and shorter than what you want the finished line to be.
  2. For the bottom line, extend the line also with a light hand in the same curved line, exactly parallel to the top line, and slightly longer than the top.
  3. The idea now is to perfect the line by going over them, darkening them up, and extending them to the lengths you want.
  4. Keep in mind that you want the lines to become thinner as the end.
  5. I like to use a really thin angle brush and gel liner to complete the look.
Tip: Use a light shade shadow in between the wing lines to better define the lines.

I LOVE... moisturizers by Chi Chi

Im such a sucker for lotions, cremes, body butter and anything that makes my skin feel soft and healthy.
All the moisturizes from Chi Chi I love. I have a few... okay, a lot. I have a bunch of the soufflé tubs, creme tubs and body butter tubes, love them all. all of them are really really nice, and you can get them at any Myer store. They all smell fabulous but the milk, honey and nut body butter's scent was kinda boring, but the butter felt really nice on the skin

I LOVE... "Destiny" ankle wedge boot from Court Couture

I never really was into wedges, I always much preferred a nice classy pump however they really have been growing on me. I got these from the Direct Show Wear house in Hurstville in Sydney, and have been loving them ever since. I love they're casual look, the colour and cute tassels, since I own nothing like them ! they come in a light grey colour as well.

I LOVE... Black pave set zirconia ear studs from Thomas Sabo uni sex collection

I had been eyeing these out for literally year, and having recently lost my standard diamond earrings  got these and have been getting compliments on them all the time. Its from the Thomas sabo unisex collection and comes in a white version as well for $99.

I LOVE... "Eye studio lasting drama" in blackest black by Maybelline

I used to work right next to the Sydney Central plaza Myer which housed a MAC counter but since I switched jobs my only trips into the city are for clubbing. For this reason my MAC supply is slowly running out. I thought that this would be a good opportunity to shop around for cheaper alternatives. Out of my usual MAC gel liner, I spotted a Maybelline gel liner shelved Target. Its a really good alternative, however it wont last as long as my MAC one did. Formula is nice though, smooth and easy to apply. I think its around $14.95... I might be wrong !
